It can be tough to be the smartest kid in the room, and Mensa provides wholehearted understanding and support from the local level through the national level. There is also a support network for parents and teachers of gifted youth.
These include the Constitution of Mensa as the governing document for Mensa worldwide; American Mensa's Bylaws defining the structure and governance of the organization; the board's Actions Still in Effect, or ASIEs; and Local Group bylaws, which are crafted based on the Minimum Standard Bylaws.
The Mensa Foundation is a philanthropic, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to the pursuit of excellence in the areas of intelligence. The mission and strategic focus are directed at scholarships, education and awards.
To assist ongoing programs, American Mensa offers volunteers the opportunity to participate as officers or appointees in several areas that require additional approvals. These include SIGHT Coordinators, Gifted Youth Coordinators and testing Proctors.
