The CoMicBook! SIG provides an online forum for Ms afflicted with the comic book collection bug to discuss, share, rant, rave, blather and otherwise carry on about the fine points of our hobby. Although there is no current shortage of online forums in which comic book enthusiasts can discuss, share, rant, rave, blather, etc., it is hoped that the signal-to-noise ratio of the CoMicBook! Congress of the Intelligent
The Congress of the Intelligent aims to poll only the intellectual elite of society and find out how their outlooks and impressions differ from average citizens'. Presidential approval ratings by the general public are updated almost daily, but how do smart people score the President's performance on any given day? Public opinions on hot-topic issues such as stem cell research and abortion can be found in dozens of places, but where do the most keen-witted and level-headed of society fall on these issues? Densa is a Mensa SIG for those Ms who do not particularly care if they match the popular perception of "intelligent". Your fiction, creative non-fiction - including the essay and personal essay, and poetry are welcome. This site is for the Mensan who receives joy and fulfillment in the act of creative writing. Gen Y

Open to Mensans worldwide - membership number required - anyone who is interested in tracing his/her ancestral roots. I ran GeneSIG (from 1988 to 1991) and now I have started a Yahoo! Group. Global Risk Reduction
Objective: to evaluate risks of human extinction and develop ideas for reducing those risks. See books: Sir Martin Rees, OUR FINAL HOUR; Posner, CATASTROPHE. Example: Mini black hole production is predicted at upcoming particle colliders. Black holes are supposed to evaporate via Hawking radiation, but that radiation is controversial. A cosmic ray/collider analogy is supposed to demonstrate safety, but that analogy is inexact.

Grammar Police
Preserve and observe American English usage, past, present, and future! Compare to other forms of English as well as other languages. Bring dictionaries and style books, although they won't have the final word. No dues, no NL.

Founded September 13, 1965, the M-Investment Club is Mensa's oldest surviving special interest group. Its purpose is to discuss and educate in all matters of investing.

menTLE
The mission of this group is to bring together, and to conduct academic research pertaining to, Mensans with epilepsy, with a special focus on Temporal Lobe Epilepsy (TLE). The group is open to all epileptics, migraine sufferers, neurology professionals, and the academically affiliated (including students) in appropriate fields, e.g. linguistics, psychology, and medicine. Although the ultimate goal of this group is to conduct academic research mainly within a linguistic framework, we are open to collaborating with other researchers. The other benefit to this SIG, of course, is the sense of community: hey, there are other epileptic Mensans out there? The coordinator is one!

Metacognition

Naturist
Interested in Naturism? Most of us have been taught that we ‘need’ clothing at all times, not just for protection from the elements. Here you can enjoy/discover the sense of freedom associated with Social Nudism. We have a Yahoo mailing list and a (very) occasional newsletter. Everything is free. The goals of the SIG are to exchange information about modern Naturism and our personal experiences, to encourage and facilitate members to meet privately or at public naturist facilities, and to foster mature attitudes towards our bodies and body self-acceptance.

NOU - Nature of the Universe
We have yet to find our way out from under the myriad of unsolved, evermore complex theories. Each of these separate theories is harbored in separate sciences. Only very recently are some of the sciences finding new – sometimes simplifying – support from an entirely unexpected science. TeenSIG
TeenSIG provides a social sphere for people between the ages of 13 and 19 to interact with each other within Mensa. We make our presence known en mass while having fun and making friends in an intellectual environment. It is also a mechanism for recruitment of younger people into Mensa. Parents, educators, children of Mensans, and other interested parties are also invited to join. Our members are not required to be members of Mensa but they are encouraged to take the test and join.
