Global Risk Reduction
Objective: to evaluate risks of human extinction and develop ideas for reducing those risks. See books: Sir Martin Rees, OUR FINAL HOUR; Posner, CATASTROPHE. Example: Mini black hole production is predicted at upcoming particle colliders. Black holes are supposed to evaporate via Hawking radiation, but that radiation is controversial. A cosmic ray/collider analogy is supposed to demonstrate safety, but that analogy is inexact.
Grammar Police

The mission of this group is to bring together, and to conduct academic research pertaining to, Mensans with epilepsy, with a special focus on Temporal Lobe Epilepsy (TLE). The group is open to all epileptics, migraine sufferers, neurology professionals, and the academically affiliated (including students) in appropriate fields, e.g. linguistics, psychology, and medicine. Although the ultimate goal of this group is to conduct academic research mainly within a linguistic framework, we are open to collaborating with other researchers. The other benefit to this SIG, of course, is the sense of community: hey, there are other epileptic Mensans out there? The coordinator is one!

NOU - Nature of the Universe
We have yet to find our way out from under the myriad of unsolved, evermore complex theories. Each of these separate theories is harbored in separate sciences.
