Young Mensan named one of America’s most academically talented

Young Mensan Vanessa Robinson was recognized as one of the most academically talented seventh graders in the United States for her exceptional score on the ACT, the Enterprise Ledger reported. Robinson attended the 2009 Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) Recognition Ceremony at the University of Alabama, where she was awarded a medal celebrating her achievement. Robinson will also take part in the summer study program at Appalachian State University, where she will study theatre arts.

Duke University’s TIP is a non-profit educational organization that aims to identify and serve the educational needs of academically gifted youth. Through identification, recognition, educational programs, information, advocacy and research, Duke TIP’s mission is to provide resources to gifted students, their parents, educators and schools for the development of the students’ optimal educational potential.
