2005 Community Activities Program winners
The national Community Activities Program winners were announced
during the awards presentation at the American Mensa Annual Gathering in
New Orleans.
General Community Category
Borderline Mensa
Relay for
Life
Borderline Mensa sponsored a team for the
American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. The group raised $576
for the American Cancer Society through special fund-raising Happy
Hours. They also set up a campsite during the Relay for Life to display
Mensa’s name and invite the community to visit with
members.

Local Scholarship
Borderline Mensa granted two $300 scholarships to local
students.

Central Florida Mensa
Junior Engineer Day
More than 100 children participated in Central Florida Mensa's Junior
Engineer Day. Mensa members and local engineers led hands-on activities
for the children and gave out goody bags filled with donations from
local businesses. Proceeds from the event were used for the local
group's scholarship fund.
