In 1979, William Fusselman, editor of San Diego Mensa’s
Mensan won the Owl Award. Jenny Brown, editor
of Southwest by South Florida Mensa's M-Compass
received a Special Mention was awarded for “Best New

In 1978, Linda Ann Loschiavo, editor of Greater New York Mensa’s
M-Phasis won the Owl Award. A Special Mention award went
to Kris Kurian, editor of Greater Cleveland Mensa’s
Graffiti, for “Most Improved.” Other awards

for “Editorial Excellence,” Tampa Bay Sounding
for “Best New Newsletter,” and Isolated-M
for “Outstanding Service & Quality”. Other

newsletter; Santa Barbara Mensa’s Channel-M was the best

The first award relating to Local Group newsletters was made in
1971. The award was for “Editor of the Year” and was
presented to Wayne Hawley, editor of Graffiti, the newsletter
of Cleveland Mensa.
