Certificates of Appreciation in gratitude for noteworthy contributions to the organization:

Tony Jackowski, Mid-America Mensa: Jackowski has served on the AMC as both an RVC and 2nd vice chair; internationally, he has served on the International Board of Directors, the International Elections Committee and the Small Nations Review Committee. He cochaired the 1991 Kansas City AG, will cochair the 2008 AG in Denver and was an assistant chair of the 2006 World Gathering. He has chaired eight different national committees and served on 10 others. He is a past editor of InterLoc and has conducted leadership development training both locally and nationally.

Janice Johnson, Palm Beach County Mensa: As a member of the LDW committee since 2003, Johnson has made a substantial contribution American Mensa's leadership materials. She wrote an early version of the American Mensa Retreat Guide and has updated it several times, most recently in March 2006. As the LDW Guide editor, she has edited old workshops to keep them up-to-date and has continually solicited, written and edited new workshops. She has also added other materials such as the needs survey to help RVCs choose the best workshops for an LDW. She is also helping to develop Web or CD-based training on finding volunteers, which will be available next spring. She is also a past RVC for Region 8.

National Service Awards for contributing greatly to the growth and betterment of the organization:

Robin Crawford, Chicago Area Mensa: As past LocSec of Chicago Area Mensa, Crawford saw the group through dramatic increases in membership by implementing a focused strategy and easy-to-implement goals. Through her out-of-the-box thinking, the group enhanced and expanded several programs to help make sure the group offers programs that appeal to Chicago's wide variety of members. She excels at guiding volunteers and puts every interested member to work, leveraging individual talents and skills with those of others. She implemented an apprentice program that teaches newer volunteers to follow in the footsteps of seasoned program chairs and sought out new and involved members to use their talents — such as webmaster, newsletter editor and scholarship judges — in self-gratifying ways that also help the group further its goals. As the AMC’s Communications Officer, she was actively involved in the development of the online forums and offers support for the Mensa Bulletin, InterLoc and Web site.  She chairs two committees and serves on six others.

Martha (Feld) Williams, North Alabama Mensa: Young Mensans no doubt talk about the fun they've had at Kids Trek all year long and have since 1989, when Martha (Feld) Williams first started Kids Trek. Williams' creativity and energy brings together an incredible array of programs for Young Mensans during Kids Trek. Throughout the year, she makes contact with organizations in the state where the Annual Gathering is being held and lines up speakers that are fun and appropriate for children. She puts together an amazing schedule of activities and creates an exciting and enriching environment for Young Mensans. She is incredibly dedicated to Mensa's children, both as Kids Trek Coordinator and as the Gifted Children Coordinator for North Alabama Mensa.
