Member dues

The Mensa membership year begins April 1 and ends March 31.
Annual dues are $70 unless specified in a multi-year or life plan.

By accepting membership in American Mensa, members agree to abide by all the requirements of the Constitution of Mensa, the Bylaws of American Mensa, Ltd., and the resolutions adopted by the American Mensa Committee, as required by section III.C.1.a. of the Constitution of Mensa.

Renewing your membership

If your membership is due to expire as of March 31, expect to receive your dues renewal bill in late December or early January. If you do not receive your bill, we may not have your most current address. Of course, you're welcome to renew online at any time whether you've received your bill or not.

Additional Mensan family discounts

Memberships for additional Mensan family members are available for $47 per membership and may only be purchased in single-year increments. Additional family memberships do not include subscriptions to the Mensa Bulletin or to Local Group newsletters. Additional family members must live in the same household as a primary member and be members of the same Local Group.

Dues discounts and prorations

American Mensa does not currently offer a discounted dues program, but joining members and members who've lapsed their memberships for more than one year will receive prorated dues for their second consecutive year’s dues payment. This prorated credit also applies to three-year and five-year membership plans. The prorated amount must be used for the second consecutive year of membership; the credit is unavailable after this.

If you purchase a single-year membership ($70), your first year's dues are payable in full. A credited amount will be applied to your dues payment the following year. This prorated amount is based on the month that you join or reinstate and will be reflected on the next renewal statement that you receive.

If you have any further questions about the calculation of dues payments or about multi-year plans, please email Member Services.
