ARLINGTON, TEXAS (6/23/14) - In what may be considered a very smart pairing, American Mensa and Match have teamed up to provide a dating experience exclusively for Mensa members, as well as provide all Match members access to some of the most intelligent people in the nation.
American Mensa is an association made up of members who score in the 98th percentile on certified intelligence tests, and only one in 50 Americans qualify for this distinction. Now, Match members may select the Mensa badge in their profiles to express their interest in the High IQ organization. “80% of singles rate intelligence as one of the most important factors when looking for a partner, finally proving that brainpower is the ultimate aphrodisiac,” said Amarnath Thombre, President of Match. “Partnering with Mensa now gives Match members another smart way to easily search for and connect with likeminded singles.”
In addition to the presence of the Mensa brand on Match.com, the world’s largest dating service is launching MensaMatch.com, a dating portal for the exclusive use of Mensa members. Here, Mensans can interact with millions of Match members, and can search specifically for Mensa-minded singles.
“Our members expressed a very strong interest in having a relationship site specifically for Mensa. The reaction from our members to teaming with the leader in dating services has been overwhelmingly positive. We are excited about it,” said Pam Donahoo, Executive Director of American Mensa.
To celebrate the partnership, singles across the country have the opportunity to take the Mensa practice test for $1 at //blog.match.com/mensa-match beginning today through July 6, 2014.
Launched in 1995, Match.com was the original dating site and pioneer of the online dating industry. Today, Match.com operates leading subscription-based online dating sites in 25 countries, eight languages and across five continents and is responsible for more dates, relationships and marriages than any other website. Match.com is an operating business of IAC (Nasdaq: IACI) and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. For more information, visit match.com.
