Gifted youth compete on second season of Lifetime's 'Child Genius'

Child Genius premieres Jan. 7 on Lifetime

Child Genius returns to the Lifetime Network on Jan. 7 for a second season. This weekly, unscripted docu-series follows highly intelligent and gifted children and their families over ten episodes. The kids compete in a competition throughout the series, which was developed with the cooperation of American Mensa. Former NASA astronaut Leland Melvin returns as the host.

The unscripted series focuses on the realities, opportunities, frustrations and drama that many gifted children and their families experience. American Mensa consults and provides insight and balance to the unscripted show, with each week's competition explained by Lisa Van Gemert, Mensa’s Youth and Education Ambassador. The show is produced by Shed Media, which also produces the same series in the United Kingdom and worked with UK Mensa in the same capacity in which American Mensa is participating. The UK show is in its third season.
