ARLINGTON, TEXAS (3/11/13) — Blue Moon prevailed as the beer of choice, according to a recent survey of Mensa members. The survey was dissected further, as Mensa members do have a certain affection for statistical analysis, to highlight the differences in preference between East Coast and West Coast residents. The top-10 list of beers, as selected by Mensa members includes:
- Blue Moon
- Samuel Adams Boston Lager
- 60 Minute IPA
- Fat Tire Amber Ale
- Newcastle Brown Ale
- Bud Lite
- Stella Artois
Members culled their top-10 from a list of 30 of the most popular beers in America, which was built based on sales and brand recognition. Members had a colorful variety of reasons for why they favored a particular beer. “It is pleasant to drink and goes with any food. I also paid my ex-boyfriend’s best friend to take him off my hands with a six-pack of it. It was worth every ounce,” one member said of Blue Moon.
