American Mensa, the high IQ society, is proud to announce William Rock of North Texas Mensa as the 2011 recipient of the Gifted Children Coordinator Award. The Gifted Children Coordinator Award is given for superior service as a local Gifted Youth Coordinator, which contributes to the growth of programs or services for gifted children and/or growth for Young Mensan membership.

For 40 years, the Mensa Foundation has supported the advancement of education with its scholarship and Gifted Youth programs. The Foundation has awarded thousands of scholarships to college-bound students across the United States and is currently sponsoring the award-winning Mensa for Kids Web site, www.mensaforkids.org, which provides learning resources for parents and teachers of gifted youth.

American Mensa is proud to announce that Lisa Van Gemert has joined the organization as our new Gifted Youth Specialist. Lisa will be working with Mensa’s Gifted Youth Program which serves more than 2,000 Young Mensa members as well as provides resources for gifted youth and their parents.
