American Mensa on Facebook

Mensa membership is a portal to a whole world of smart people and the communities they create. There are hundreds — thousands, even — of physical and virtual Mensa gathering places, and the proclivities and conversations are as diverse as the members who create them. Passing the test and joining gives you the key to the door; it’s up to you to discover where it’ll take you.

American Mensa has two Facebook groups available for member participation. In addition to our own online community, Mensa Connect, we offer American Mensa Hospitality and American Mensa Firehouse. Our members are welcome to join either or both groups.

M-Hospitality SIG

American Mensa’s moderated Facebook community for current Mensa members who are 18 years of age or older, and the staff of American Mensa.

CONDUCT RULES
  1. Violation of anyone’s personal privacy is not allowed. Members cannot post identifying information or personal information about another Mensa member that they themselves haven’t already posted (relationships, job and family situations, last name, address, etc.)
  2. Physical threats are not allowed, period.
  3. Blatant attacks/name calling/insults/bullying are not allowed against any individuals on-list, but there are no restrictions on attacks against public figures.
  4. Photos deemed Not Safe For Work are not allowed.
  5. Controversial topics will be allowed, but excessive inflammatory language or profanity will not. A “reasonable person” standard will be applied where “excessive” use occurs. Messages that include graphic or gratuitous nudity or violence are not allowed.

The above list is not intended to be exhaustive, but to give general guidance as to conduct that is likely to be unacceptable. The moderators may proscribe other conduct they believe detracts from the spirit of camaraderie in the group.

In order to join, and remain in, this group, all members must be free of sanctions from any American Mensa administered Facebook group.
