Parents as Talent Scouts: Ways to Support Our Youngest Gifted Learners

  • Oct 8, 2026

Giftedness can show up long before a child ever takes a school screening or receives a formal identification. So what should parents look for, and what can they do to support a young child who may be gifted?

In this webinar, Dr. Gayle Bentley explores common behaviors and traits that may signal advanced abilities in young children, from preschool through the early elementary years. She’ll discuss why early opportunities to explore, question, create, and learn at an appropriate level can matter, rather than waiting for a school’s gifted screening process to begin.

Parents will come away with practical ways to recognize potential in their youngest learners, nurture their strengths and curiosity, and create meaningful learning opportunities at home and in their communities.

Whether your child has already been identified as gifted or you’re simply wondering if their development looks a little different from their peers, this session will offer guidance for supporting young learners where they are right now.
